androidist is a technology-oriented news website dedicated to all things Android and beyond. We break the news on the world's most popular operating system while also bringing you the most practical and in-depth gadget reviews surrounding the broader mobile industry — informing both newcomers and aficionados to the community.
Originally started as a Facebook page, androidist was founded in 2019 by two founding members Brahm Daniel Verano and Mar Yvan Dela Cruz, having the main objective of conveying the newest in consumer technology in simpler terms. It was transitioned to a fully-fledged news website a year later and has since expanded its coverage, catering to a larger demographic, including gaming news, personal computing, editorials, opinions, and other technology-related information dedicated to the masses.
androidist is a portmanteau of Android and Enthusiast.
The name androidist is derived from the word 'Android', the world’s most popular operating system, and 'Enthusiast', which means a person interested in a particular activity or subject.
androidist is part of the Journalism Trust Initiative (JTI).

Brahm Daniel Verano is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of androidist. He is a consumer technology journalist and a phone critic with almost half a decade of smartphone coverage and gadget reviewing experience in between.
He founded the publication in 2019, later becoming one of the Philippines' first news websites dedicated to reporting on Android. He is among a few who have reviewed the first OnePlus tablet and has attended major tech events held locally, including Galaxy Unpacked.
He is currently taking up a Bachelor of Science in Information and Technology at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. He can be reached at brahm@androidist.net or @liafourte on X.
Mar Yvan Dela Cruz is the Co-Founder of androidist. He joined androidist during its conceptualization phase and helped build its foundation. Prior to joining androidist, he worked as a kernel and an Android ROM developer, contributing to custom firmware projects and optimizing performance for various Android devices.
He spends most of his time coding and has a soft spot for chemical engineering.
