HUAWEI launches nova 13, Mate X6 smartphones in the Philippines

Smartphone brand HUAWEI welcomes the year with a plethora of camera-centric smartphones for the Philippine market.

MANILA, Philippines — Chinese smartphone maker HUAWEI has launched a plethora of smartphones: the nova 13 series and the Mate X6 for the Philippine market at an event on Thursday, January 16, 2025. The new smartphones from the smartphone brand include the nova 13, nova 13i, nova 13 Pro, and the aforementioned Mate X6, which the four of them feature superior cameras and an astonishing aesthetic.

HUAWEI nova 13

First off on the list is the HUAWEI nova 13. It features an astonishing design in a checkered color aesthetic. It has a 6.7-inch OLED display in Full HD+ resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate. It highlights the 60MP ultra-wide camera for selfies. Other than that, it uses the 50MP and 8MP combination for the main camera, as well as the Kirin 8000 chipset for performance, with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of ROM, and a 5,000mAh battery with 100W charging. The phone runs on EMUI 14.2.

HUAWEI nova 13i

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI nova 13i is the toned-down version of the nova 13. It features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a circular camera bump for the 108MP Auto-Focus main camera joined by 2MP depth. It has an 8MP sensor on the front and uses a 6nm Snapdragon 680 for performance, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It has a 5,000mAh battery with 40W charging and runs on EMUI 14.2.

HUAWEI nova 13 Pro

The HUAWEI nova 13 Pro is the top-of-the-line smartphone among the three in the lineup. It sports a 6.76-inch OLED display in 2776 x 1224 resolution and has a 120Hz refresh rate. It has the astonishing, checkered premium design available in Loden Green and Black colors that features the pill-shaped camera setup on the left-side, consisting of a 50MP adjustable aperture camera, 12MP telephoto, and 8MP ultra-wide macro camera sensors. Meanwhile, it has a dual front-facing camera consisting of 60MP ultra-wide and 8MP portrait sensors.

The nova 13 Pro uses the Kirin 8000 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with a 5,000mAh battery that charges at 100W. It runs on EMUI 14.2.

HUAWEI Mate X6

Aside from the nova 13 series, HUAWEI has also launched the brand's latest foldable offering — the Mate X6. It boasts a 7.93-inch display when unfolded and 6.45-inch when folded. The two displays use an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1440Hz PWM dimming.

The Mate X6 highlights the distinctive back panel sporting two colorways: Nebula Red and Black, as well as the high-end camera setup: 50MP Phase Focus with OIS, 40MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto macro, and the 1.5M Spectral Channels Ultra Chroma camera. It has an 8MP sensor on the front (both folded and unfolded).

In terms of performance, the Mate X6 comes with the Kirin 9020 processor aided by 12GB of RAM and 512GB of ROM. It has a 5,110mAh that charges at 66W and runs on EMUI 15.0.
