Samsung held an event today, announcing the newest additions to the Galaxy portfolio. Although launched as a global event, Galaxy Unpacked, the event, took place as a watch party at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City, Philippines, announcing the newly-launched devices in the country. The new lineup from the smartphone brand consists of the Z Fold6 and the Z Flip6, alongside the Galaxy Buds3 and 3 Pro, the Galaxy Watch7, the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the Galaxy Ring, although the latter has no confirmed local availability.

The Rundown

  • Samsung launched the following devices: Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, Buds3, Buds3 Pro, Watch7, Watch Ultra, and the Galaxy Ring.
  • Price starts at PHP 70,990 (~US $1,200) for the Z Flip6 and PHP 105,990 (~US $1,800) for the Z Fold6.
  • Galaxy Ring does not see the Philippines yet as a market as of writing.

Galaxy Z Fold6

The Galaxy Z Fold6 measures 7.6-inch (QXGA+) in full and 6.3-inch (HD+) when folded. The main display supports up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness. Both panels feature the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display from the brand, as well as the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It weighs 239 grams and comes with a 10MP cover selfie camera, a 4MP under-display camera (in full display), and a triple-camera setup on the rear, consisting of 50MP (wide), 12MP (ultra-wide), and 10MP (telephoto) sensors.

The Galaxy Z Fold6 boasts the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, coupled with Ray Tracing, 12GB of RAM and either 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage. It has a 4,400mAh dual-battery inside that charges up half in around 30 minutes. It has an IP48 certification, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and runs on Android 14-based OneUI 6.1.1 out-of-the-box with several Galaxy AI features, including Sketch to Image, that bring your edit sketches to life with true-to-life renders and more. It comes in Silver Shadow, Pink, and Navy colors, with Crafted Black, and White as Samsung.com Exclusives.

Galaxy Z Flip6

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip6, measures around a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display in full and 3.4-inch when folded. Both panels come in AMOLED tech but the latter opts for a 60Hz refresh rate for the cover screen (the full screen supports 120Hz). It weighs 187 grams and has a 10MP selfie camera and a rear dual camera consisting of 12MP ultra and 50MP wide sensors. The Z Flip 6 has the same power as its Fold counterpart with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy chipset, coupled with a vapor chamber, 12GB of RAM, and with either 256GB or 512GB of onboard storage.

Inside the Z Flip6 is the 4,000mAh battery that charges at 50% in around 30 minutes according to the brand. It runs on the same Android 14 with OneUI 6.1.1, with Galaxy AI highlighting the Live Translate, which, as the name suggests, translates call conversations in real-time, FlexWindow, which gives the ability to customize the cover screen, and FlexCam that automatically zooms in and out depending on the environment, hands-free. Other than that, it has the IP48 certification, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and support for customizable Flipsuit Cases that adjust the device's theme depending on the design. It comes in Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue, and Mint colors with Crafted Black, White, and Peach as Samsung.com Exclusives.

The Buds3 and 3 Pro.

Both the Buds3 and 3 Pro come in Silver and White colors, as the duo are highly similar to each other but the Pro variant gets the pro treatment as usual. The Buds3 has a 1-way 11mm Dynamic Driver while the Buds3 Pro comes with an enhanced 2-way 10.5mm Dynamic and 6.1mm Planar drivers for the speakers. Both models have 3 mics, a VPU, a UHQ sound quality with 24-bit Hi-Fi support, and 360 audio with direct multi-channel. The Buds3 has an ANC while the Buds3 Pro opts for a more upgraded technology with ANC, Ambient sound, and Voice Detect. Both models have IP57 water resistance.

The Watch7 and Watch Ultra.

The Galaxy Watch7 is offered in two variants: 44mm and 40mm. The 44mm model is available in Green and Silver colors, while the 40mm variant is available in Green and Cream colors. The 44mm variant has a 1.5-inch screen (37.3 mm) while the 40mm variant settles for 1.3 inches (33.3 mm). It has a sapphire glass with an aluminum material. Both variants come with the Samsung BioActive Sensor which consists of the brand's latest technologies, including the Optical Biosignal Sensor, Electrical Heart Signal, and the Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis. The Watch7 is backed by a MIL-STD-810H certification for tougher durability, paired with 5ATM and IP68 with a 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset and a 30 hour-battery inside.

The Watch Ultra, on the other hand, is offered in one size, 47 mm. It is available in three colorways, consisting of Titanium Silver, Titanium Gray, and Titanium White. It has a Sapphire Crystal material around an aluminum frame with a 1.5-inch (37.3mm) display in an AMOLED panel. It has the same sensors as the Watch7 but comes with a stronger 10ATM certification for Ocean Swimming and Operation Temperature, and is Altitude Guaranteed. It has the same 3nm Exynos W1000 chipset inside but with a 100 hour-battery (when in power saving mode) and a Dual Frequency GPS System. 

Both the Galaxy Watch7 and the Watch Ultra are integrated with Samsung Health for Energy Score, Wellness Tips, Sleep Apnea and AGEs. 

The Galaxy Ring.


The Galaxy Ring has a concave design and has a Titanium material, with colors Titanium Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Gold. It is 10ATM water resistant that survives up to 100 meters underwater and has a battery that lasts a week. It has gesture controls, such as the double-pinch, and is integrated with Samsung Health for Sleep Tracking, Energy Score, and Wellness Tips. It also comes with a charging case and is being offered in 9 size options.

As for the Galaxy Ring, androidist learned that its local availability was not specified nor mentioned in the country's local press materials that were sent out by the brand, but it was priced at $399 in the US so it could be priced similarly at some point if it ever comes to the Philippines.

Pre-orders for these devices start July 10 and will be on the market on July 31.
