Motorola releases another set of phones this week, but this time, it’s a trio one.
Look what Motorola brought us to the table — the Edge 20, 20 Pro, and 20 Lite. There’s a lot to talk about so let’s start with the Pro one since it’s “Pro” and it sounds cooler compared to the other two. The Pro model brings flagship-esque specs that consist of a 6.7-inch OLED display, 144Hz buttery refresh rates, a 108MP primary camera, and an 8MP periscope module with 5x optical zoom.
The vanilla Edge 20 houses the same OLED panel, 144Hz refresh rate, and 108MP primary camera but downgrades the 5x optical zoom to a lower 3x optical zoom while the Lite version still uses the same 108MP main cam, and 6.7-inch OLED display but only uses a 90Hz refresh rate instead of the standard 144Hz.
The Edge 20 Pro brings a Snapdragon 870 chipset coupled with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage while the vanilla Edge 20 gets Snapdragon 778G with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Edge 20 Lite, on the other hand, is left with a Dimensity 720 chipset along with 6GB and 128GB storage. The vanilla Edge 20 and Edge 20 Pro share the same 16MP ultrawide Samsung ISOCELL HM2 lenses while the Lite variant is equipped with an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensors.
When it comes to batteries, the Edge 20 Lite takes place on top with its 5,000mAh battery and 30W wired charging tech. The Pro model carries a 4,500mAh battery while the vanilla Edge 20 is left with a 4,000mAh battery, but both also come with 30W fast charging speeds.
Software-wise, all three phones are covered by MyUX on top of Android 11 with Ready For PC interface support which brings a standard desktop-like appearance when connected to an external display, ever heard of Samsung Dex? Yes, it’s just like that. Motorola will also bring two major Android version upgrades, well, that’s at least for two years.
The pricing for the Motorola Edge 20 Pro starts at €699.99 (~roughly PHP 41.5K). The vanilla Edge 20 will be priced at €499.99 (~roughly PHP 29.6K) whereas the Edge 20 Lite will go for €349.99 (~roughly PHP 20.7K). All three phones will be available later this August, and will eventually arrive in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Motorola doesn’t plan on bringing the handsets to the US for now.
Local availability remains unknown so stay tuned for more updates!
